Impossible — Privacy Policy

Impossible is developed by Title Unknown Studios. This policy covers the Impossible application on Meta Horizon OS and explains what personal data we collect and process, why we use it, where it is retained, and how you can request its deletion. It supplements our general privacy policy and takes precedence for this app.

Request data deletion

We do not operate our own game-data servers or database. The game uses Meta’s Platform SDK and leaderboard service. We do not use game analytics, advertising or tracking services. Receiving data through Meta’s SDK is collection and processing, including when the data is used only temporarily in the game’s memory.

Data we collect and use

When Impossible connects to Meta’s platform for its global leaderboard, it collects and processes User ID, User Profile and Blocked Users data as described below. Run results and a personal best are also generated during play. Local personal-best storage can continue when the online leaderboard is unavailable.

DataSourcePurposeStorage
Meta user IDs (User ID), including your ID and IDs in retrieved leaderboard entries Meta Platform SDK Identify your leaderboard entry and match entries against your blocked-user list Used in game memory during the session; the game does not save these IDs to local storage
Display names or Meta/Oculus usernames (User Profile) Meta Platform SDK leaderboard entries Label players on the leaderboard; a username is used if a display name is unavailable Used in game memory during the session; not saved to local storage by the game
IDs of users you have blocked (Blocked Users) Meta Platform SDK Filter blocked players out of the leaderboard shown to you Used temporarily in memory for filtering; not saved to local storage by the game
Run scores and rankings, including rows crossed and elapsed time encoded in a score Gameplay and Meta’s leaderboard service Submit your result and show global rankings and nearby players Scores are stored by Meta in association with your account; retrieved entries are displayed and cached in game memory
Your personal-best score Gameplay Show your saved personal best, including offline Saved in the app’s local data on your headset
Contact email, message contents and identifying details you provide in a support or deletion request You, when you email us Respond, verify the relevant entry, and fulfil your request Our support email account, provided by Google (Gmail)

The leaderboard integration does not request your email address, real name, profile picture, friends list, location, voice or movement recordings. You do not need to create a separate Title Unknown Studios account. If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include in your message.

How data is used and shared

The game sends eligible run scores to Meta’s leaderboard service, which associates them with your Meta account. It retrieves scores, ranks, user IDs and profile names to display leaderboard entries. Your leaderboard name, score and rank may be visible to other players. Your blocked-user list is used for filtering and is not displayed to them.

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Meta receives and stores leaderboard submissions and provides platform data to the game. Meta’s own handling of account and platform data is described in Meta’s privacy policy. Support and deletion emails are handled through Gmail to allow us to respond to your request.

How long data is retained

User IDs, profile names, blocked-user IDs and retrieved leaderboard entries are used in game memory and are not retained by the game after it closes. Meta retains its underlying account data separately. Online scores remain in Meta’s leaderboard until replaced by a better result or deleted. Local personal-best data remains until the app’s saved data is cleared.

We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request and any follow-up, or to meet a legal obligation. If a legal obligation prevents deletion of particular information, we will explain what is retained and why in our response.

Request deletion of your data

You can request deletion of your Impossible leaderboard entry and personal information held by Title Unknown Studios by emailing titleunknownstudios@gmail.com. No separate account or web form is required.

Email a deletion request

  1. Use the subject Impossible data deletion request.
  2. Include your Meta username or display name and tell us whether you want your leaderboard entry, support correspondence, or all Impossible personal data we hold deleted.
  3. We will reply to acknowledge the request. If necessary, we will ask for the minimum additional information needed to verify the request and identify the correct entry. A display name alone may not uniquely identify an account.
  4. We will handle verified requests without undue delay, aim to complete them within 30 days of receiving the request, and confirm the outcome by email. If verification or a legal requirement affects completion, we will explain this to you.

The button opens your email application; you must send the message to submit the request. If it does not open, copy the address into your email service. Do not send your password, authentication codes, payment details or identity documents.

Leaderboard data: We will remove the verified entry from Impossible’s Meta-hosted leaderboard. Closing or uninstalling the game does not itself delete that online entry. Further online play can submit a new score; deletion does not permanently prevent future collection or score submissions.

Data on your headset: We cannot remotely erase local saves. Clear Impossible’s app data using your headset’s available storage controls, or uninstall the app to remove its local data. If a platform backup restores saved data, manage that backup through Meta’s backup controls. Contact us if you need help.

Temporary data and your Meta account: Close Impossible to release the data held in game memory. Deleting Impossible data does not delete your Meta account or alter its profile or blocked-user settings. Manage that separate information through your Meta account settings.

Children

Impossible is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process data from them. Meta account age requirements apply.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Title Unknown Studios may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page changes when we do, and the current version is always available at this URL. If we ever process data for a purpose not described here, we will update this policy before doing so.
